About

The Argeș County Museum is the most prominent museum in Argeș County, housing collections of remarkable objects that illustrate the civilization of Argeș and Romania.
The Argeș County Museum is located in the former Prefecture building, constructed between 1889 and 1899. The museum's headquarters houses the History, Natural Sciences, Naive Art Gallery, Planetarium, and Argeș Sports Museum sections.
The Planetarium at the Argeș County Museum is one of the most modern in the country, offering the public a fascinating viewing experience thanks to its high-performance 4K UHD projection system – laser technology.
Another attraction is the micro-exhibition "Exhibit of the Month," which presents the public with unique items from the collections of the Argeș County Museum.
The Argeș County Museum also administers the "Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpăna" Art Gallery in Pitești, Poienari Fortress, the Roman Camp Jidova in Câmpulung, and the "Dinu Lipatti" Memorial House in Leordeni.
